3/21/13 plantings

North end of herb garden. The tarragon's old home. It died so now I will replant the new in another spot.

Today's plantings:
Peas
Burpeeana Early (63 day harvest) & Sugar Daddy (65 day harvest) purchsed Lowe's
Snow Girl (60 day maturity) left over from last year.
Lettuce
Black Seeded Simpson left over from last year

Orange bearded iris

I found this at Bench's Greenhouse today.  First orange one I have seen. Now where to plant it when it warms up some more.

Gardening is like therapy

Gardening is like therapy, you have get rid of the dead wood before the new growth can blossom.

The after picture is so much nicer than the before shot. But it took hard work to get the old grape vines, weeds, and roaming mints under control just in this small section.

I too have been weeding out old thoughts, feelings, and inaccuracies, my herb garden last year was like my inner self - overgrown and in shambles. This year I am digging deeper and pulling out the dead wood leaving room for sunlight, moonlight, water, and nutrients of self acceptance, courage, wisdom, and love to grow.

That also means vigilance.  There must be time for reflection, weeding , contemplation, and enjoyment of the fruits of my labour.
